for accoustic instruments only, (bass can be electric) and the music
is bluegrass, old time country and gospel with a sprinkling of other
genres occasionally. Family oriented, the room where we pick is
a non-smoking, non-drinking room. The jam runs from 1 to 4 p.m.(5
is we're really having fun!) No jam on Mother's Day or in June (there
is a jamfest in another town that month) |

" This is the BEST jam session in TEXAS. It draws between 400 & 600 people to play and listen at this little ghost town set way back in the hills near Evant, Tx in the heart of the hill country. It is at an old school house that has been renovated...added heat & a/c. People jam in every room of the school house, in the halls, outside under the pavillion and under any shade tree you can find. Lots of good ol' time bluegrassw and gospel. All acustic. Good home cooked food in the old school cafeteria...great pies. Professionals and amateurs play together. It is continuous music all day Saturday from about 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. If you want to go on stage, just see the guys in charge"
